A 7.2 kW rooftop installation that never touches the grid and stores what it generates in a lithium battery.

Where the grid does not reach — or where an outage stops work — the only answer is to store what you generate on site. In this installation twelve 595 W bifacial panels generate through the day, a TommaTech inverter converts it to 220 V and the surplus builds up in a 51 V lithium battery bank that carries the evening and night load.
Capacity was decided from the building’s actual consumption rather than from panel prices: the system had to carry the night and the cloudy days as well. Panels were laid out to the roof’s orientation and pitch, and the mounting structure was installed without breaking the roof’s waterproofing.
